Hate will only ever cause you misfortune, is something that it proved within this text. It is proved first, in the starting of the two families’ feud. If the two families had not fought over the land, or had just given in when the court gave the land to the Gradwitz’s, then the land could have been used for something useful, rather than left as the petty outskirts of the Gradwitz forest. Which in itself is a misfortune, what could have been great, useful land, stayed forest because of the feud. The second proof is that the feud would have calmed down if not for the personal hate the two men had for eachother. If the feud had calmed down then all the time spent on the feud could have been used differently, put to a better use. Time is precious,
