The United States has inflicted imperialism on the island Hawaii on January 17, 1893. They did this by overthrowing the government which was a monarchy and its ruler was Queen Liliuokalani. Then by overthrowing the sugar planters who overthrew the Queen, President William Mckinley was able to obtaining the territory for the U.S after the Spanish-American war. The U.S wanted to obtain Hawaii because of its monopoly on Sugar and its Sugar exports to The United States. The United States wanted to obtain the territory also to get rid of taxes on them and the business, and wealthy people were losing their ability to manipulate the government and wanted it as a naval base like pearl harbor.

This is because of the massive culture, and thriving economy. Even though the imperialism of Hawaii could be viewed as aggressive behavior, it was necessary to stop other countries from acquiring Hawaii. But Hawaii also supplied the United States with a lot of natural resources and a suitable naval base that was crucial for us to win World War II. So without the imperialization of Hawaii, the Axis’ powers could have won WW2 and doomed us all. But since we imperialized the increasing demand for sugar resulted in the importation of thousands of immigrant laborers from all over the world to work the industry. Today, Hawaii had one of the world's’ most multicultural populations. If we didn’t imperialize on Hawai who knows what history could be like today, but I know it has helped the U.S. in battles, economy, and dominance over communist countries today. Today, Hawaii is granted representation in the congress and senate, and the birthplace of our current president, Barack Obama. Hawaii, as a U.S. state, is guaranteed the freedom of all citizens and safe from foreign aggression. If we didn’t imperialize on Hawai who knows what history could be like today, but I know it has helped the U.S. in battles, economy, and dominance over communist countries
