Hawksbill turtles, although a vital resource to the ecosystem is dwelling in numbers; and is coming close to being extinct. Scientist have conducted in the Caribbean, Columbian, and Hawaiian islands and found a decrease of turtles showing up on shore (Meylan, 1999). Over the years a massive decrease in sea turtles has been affecting the seas due to the impact that humans have had. As of right now there are only five populations around the world that has female turtles nesting 1000s eggs every year, but yet the population still decreased 80% in the last 105 years (Mark, Set, 2012).
