Our daughter’s name is Hazel Rivas-Bailey, she is now a year old and is as spunky as ever. Hazel loves to walk, read books, sleep, play and don't forget eating. Hazel is such a big part of our lives now, we are not only responsible for ourselves but for a little human. This project has taught us about the development of a baby until 12 months old. These stages are so precious in a baby's life and is a critical time for them. Hazel is going to face some obstacles trying to understand not one but two languages. Money was not a huge concern before, but since we have Hazel we definitely have learned what's important and what is not. Instead of buying shoes or clothing we now buy diapers, toys and baby clothing. We got a huge wake up call on how expensive babies are and how much they need. Hazel had an ear infection at 9 months old and it scared us so much because the health and well being of her means everything to us, seeing her pull at her ears and cry all night in pain put us in pain and it made us realize how her well being can affect our day to day activities as well as how much we hate to see her going through any harmful situations. We put ourselves in her shoes and tried to give her the best care and attention we could so she could get better and not suffer anymore. During this time we didn't care how long we stayed up even when we were tired, because she needed us and she is all that matters to
