Event Synopsis/Comments: The SWTJC held a CBP Recruiting event at the Eagle Pass, Texas campus on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 1100-1230 hours. The event was held in a classroom and was geared towards students from SWTJC. Supervisory CBP Officer Eric Galarza along with CBP Officers Javier Torres and Gilberto Rodriguez from the Eagle Pass Port of Entry attended the event as recruiters on behalf of the Laredo Field Office. This event was different than others for the Eagle Pass recruiters as it was set up in a classroom for a more intimate setting. Thirteen people attended the event; they listened to OFO recruiters give a presentation on the history, the duties, benefits, and training.
Surreptitiously and quietly, the posted sentries at the main entrance leading to the Dweller city of New Hope maintained their duties guarding it, keeping watch over any potential threats that may arise from beyond the entrance at any time. From the balcony that stood directly above the steel gates of the main entrance, the Dweller city guard had managed to place a small barrier of sandbags with an additional sentry gun turret, consisting of twin mounted MG42 machine guns. Even further behind the sandbags and sentry turret emplacement was a table, with two G43 semi-automatic rifles leaning on the table. Good Evening Prof. Ellis, I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Break! I know I enjoyed a nice home cooked meal, however, the reason I am emailing you is to make sure I don 't have my "final grade docked" because I didn 't send in excuses for my absences. I am positive I have missed over three absences, so attached are doctor 's notes for two of the days I missed. I know there is a chance my grade would not have been affected, but I did not want to risk it. Thanks.
Eating disorders are complex illnesses that involve physical, psychological and emotional suffering. Those who suffer from eating disorders experience intense journeys; observing these journeys may produce meaningful implications that can help us understand the suffering experience, as well as the course of their illness. The following four photos provide distinct narratives that illustrate the experience of suffering from eating disorders; each of these images portray narrative concepts that are in relation to the theories of Arthur Frank in The Wounded Storyteller: Body, Illness, and Ethics. By relating these four images to Frank’s concepts, we can begin to comprehend the perspectives of the ill and understand the meaning of the experiences that exist when suffering from eating disorders. Celebrate Recovery Celebrate Recovery is a ministry that has been designed for people who are hurting for any reason. It is made up of regular folks like you and me, who are on a journey seeking recovery from and celebrating God’s healing of life’s hurts, habits, and hang ups. Founded in 1990 by Pastor John Baker, Celebrate Recovery is a ministry born out of the heart of Saddleback Church. In over twenty years, more than 11,500 individuals have gone through this Christ-centered recovery program at Saddleback. In 1993, John and Pastor Rick Warren wrote the curriculum which has been published and translated into twenty-three languages.
I think women should be added to the draft. Women have been proven to be just as capable as men in the military, equal rights include equal responsibility, and by having the most talented people in our military regardless of gender we can fight and win wars in the most intelligent and efficient way. Adding women to the draft is a great way to support and protect the American dream. People fear that woman wouldn’t be able to handle the physical conditions of serving on the front lines, however women have been in the military since the late 18th century. Furthermore those who couldn’t handle it could be sent home the same way a man would be.
The transition from eighth grade to ninth grade is one of the most difficult but unforgettable things a student must do in his adolescence. For me, it was filled with new opportunities of taking Ap classes and joining clubs. One of these cubs was Youth and Government (Y&G). For as long as I can remember my brother, Riad, has boasted about how amazing Y&G is and how it has changed his life. My brother is three years older then me, so as a freshman he was a senior in Y&G.
Dear Mr.Woods I am writing to you to express my interest in the position of becoming your student in your Eng 119 class at WCCCD. I know for a fact that I am an excellent fit for this position, as proven by my vast training in my high school accelerated english classes and proven success in my ACT and COMPASS test scores. I have amassed 1200 hours of patient care experience at my first CNA job at The Elms of Cranbury. My experience at the nursing home was challenging but rewarding at the same time.. My duties there included bathing, feeding, washing, transporting, dressing, toileting, changing and dressing patients. I also had to record the amount of food they ate, how much they voided and the size and consistency of their bowel movements. I had to report any abnormalities, complaints, or medical requests to the nurse.
How Trauma Gave Me Strength People are shaped into the people they are and their personality based on their childhood, how they were raised, and taught as a child. It not only creates a person and changes their attitude towards life, but it also helps people decide what they want to accomplish later in life. The first few years of my childhood were not easy, both my parents were in an accident and passed away in the first 3 years of my life.
Clarieece “Precious” Jones is a 16-year-old African American female who is pregnant with her second child. Precious shared that she has been physically and emotionally abused by her mother. In addition, she admits that her father has emotionally, physically, and sexually abused her since the age three. As a result of the incestuous relationship, Precious gave birth to their daughter Mongo, at the age of twelve. Mongo was born with down syndrome and lives with her maternal grandmother.
INTRODUCTION I was 43, when I finally decided to try with all my heart to face the demons inside of me. I had been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and my physical health was suffering from incredible fear, anxiety, and migraines. The migraines were so severe that I was visiting the doctor once a week and had been sent to the hospital several times for relief. My entire body ached, flashbacks wouldn’t cease and I was falling apart.
“I left Wilson kicking and screaming,” that’s my dad’s cliche, though I’m pretty sure I was the one who was kicking and screaming. That’s because I was three when my family moved from Wilson, Wyoming, to Melody Ranch. One of my favorite quotes is “Change is difficult, not changing is fatal.” I often think of this quote when I remember the move. I was too little then to use advanced life skills, but I identified two that I could’ve used if I was older ; humor and initiative.
In my brief life, I have overcome a lot of adversity. My mom fled Mexico with her three young children to escape domestic violence. When we came to this country we had only a few personal belongings and the promise of a better future. We came to this country and lived in a small trailer with no toilet other than a bucket, and no shower except for the one that was lent to us from the kindness of a stranger, our new neighbor. As a single parent, my mother had to work day and night to support us.
EDCO 541: Final Paper Introduction The theory that I chose to analyze for this paper is the constructivist approach with a dual use of both the Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Narrative Therapy. In my own personal philosophy, I am optimistic that every student is capable of discovering a solution that best fits in solving their problem and that everything we do in life is interconnected to helping us accomplish our ideal goals. I plan to work with first generation college students after completing the Educational Counseling program at USC and see the Constructivist approach to best accommodate the needs of first generation college student population. I see ever student as independent actors with their unique stories on life and treat every
