There are many international non-governmental organization because of many changes in our society as well as the needs of actions that are required to meet the needs of many nations. These organizations can promote health and education and assist countries to recover from disasters. These organizations are not affiliated with any government and are usually funded by donations from individuals or governments.

Out of the many organizations that help those who suffers from disasters around the world, the one that stands out is an organization known as CARE. CARE (Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere) is an international non-government organization that provides disaster relief and help fight poverty around the globe. CARE helps whenever there is a disaster such as earthquakes and floods. Food is not the only thing that CARE provides. CARE also provides families suffering from disaster with tools for farming so that they will be able to become more independent and provide for their families.

One of the challenges that CARE faced was that some of the food that they received to distribute to countries was actually hurting the local markets. Some charities that received food would actually sell the food at the local markets in order to finance other projects. Also, CARE stopped accepting food that was surplus because they tended to give an advantage to United States Agriculture.

CARE is necessary in that it helps families get food that they were not able to get because of war or disaster. Today there are many countries that suffer from famine and CARE helps not only with food but with water restoration and tools in order for the people to start farming their own food.
