Health care was a lot different in the 18-1900’s. Technologies were developed that health care professionals take for granted every day. The hospital provided a place of refuge for sick the sick and shut-in. It was also an interactive classroom for doctors and nurses of all specialties. One interesting technology that developed in the late 1800’s was the syringe. As healthcare evolved, so did the tools that were used nurses. In 1844, Francis Rynd invented the first syringe.
