It helps the nurse serve patients better and help shape a world in which the holistic treatment is being given. Due to health problems the nurse can now work with private and public institution to perform risk and hazard assessments.

This concept helps the nurse to promote health and healthy behavior and as a health resource person for the community. Through this the nurse could identify health issues which may affect the well-being of individuals, families, groups and communities and such health issues are referred to appropriate agencies and ensure that co-ordination of care occurs.
Health information helps the nurse detect abnormal conditions as early as possible in order to provide medical assistance if needed and carry out emergency measures when there is no medical help.
