There is no life without death. Healthcare is an important aspect of our lives that ensures we are healthy and able to live life to the fullest. My parents were average working Americans. They worked hard and provided our family with the best life they could. When I was younger, I didn’t quite understand what motivated them. Some days, they were tired and their bodies were worn, but still they continued and prevailed. When I look back on my own journey to a career in healthcare administration, two words best summarize my experience: due diligence. My first professional role was my internship at Children’s Home and Aid. My internship focused on human resources and policies. During that time, I began learning the ins and outs of working for a nonprofit company. I also expanded my knowledge regarding human resources, funding, talent acquisition, analyzing data, and interpreting data. Eventually, that internship allowed me to begin my role in the HR Support Team at Florida Power and Light. Although the team was new and always changing, as a result of both federal and state laws, I was able to support employees who had symptoms of or tested positive for COVID-19. One of the most impactful projects I undertook dealt with compiling and surveying data regarding all the new positive cases and comparing them by month, job duties, and location. My team's founding allowed the company to change how it contained outbreaks and helped address various concerns regarding how to handle a close-quarters work
