Analysis of Strategic Factors (SWOT) Situational Analysis The situational analyses of the ambulatory surgery center I work in include the external forces and factors that assess the company. There are many external and internal forces and factors for each company no matter the sector that they are in. The biggest external factors in healthcare are the organizational structure and innovation. These are the most important external factors because they help the company run and be ahead of other companies. The organizational structure is important because it needs to be clearly defined and have all job positions working in tandem with one another. These strongly affect the corporation’s present and future performance because the economy shows what people can afford and the political-legal factors can be changes in government or government policies. Healthcare reform is a big topic and would affect the industry I am in because if for some reason healthcare was free or everyone was the same there would not be as much competition for patients or healthcare companies wanting to focus on the quality and care of those around them are receiving. Review of the Mission and Objectives The current mission and objectives are appropriate in light of the key strategic factors and problems. This is because the mission is “Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.” I do not believe that the mission or the objectives should be changed because they relate to the company because everyone that works there or is treated there is a human and by being committed to the care and improvement of human life it shows that they care.
