She uses her experience and educates others in order to let others overcome their hurdles and achieve success. Heather believes that is her true win, to see people obtain accomplishment. A particular motto this accomplished athlete lives by and tells other is to “Believe in the possibilities.” An additional saying Heather conveys is that “we are all capable of WAY more than we give ourselves credit for.” Heather wants us to “Believe in the possibilities” because when we believe in these very possibilities, we can achieve so much more than we think or presume. Heather’s journey into the bobsledding sport was totally unexpected. She wasn’t even that interested in sports until she was 27 and suddenly came across learning new skills in bobsledding and competing for Canada. Heather believes, “This alone demonstrates the fact that no one was ‘born’ to do anything. It is our choices that determine the direction and story of our lives!” We can learn so much from this athlete using her philosophies.
