Impacting Others
As high school students are about to graduate and move into the world they are often asked where they see themselves in the future. For most of us the thought of our future and moving on in life can be intimidating. Personally, I cannot wait for the future. As people grow older they encounter more and more opportunities to impact the world and the people around them. I want to be able to know that I made a difference in the world and impacted the lives of hundreds or even thousands. As graduation approaches, the fierce competition for valedictorian comes down to myself and one other. Having a mindset and a goal to be valedictorian for the Class of 2016, I hope to attend one of the top colleges in Ohio. While going into the program I knew healthcare was for me, but I was unsure of what field to purse. Amongst the variety of departments I worked in, the one that stood out the most was my time in the obstetrics and pediatric floor. After graduating from the Academy, my path was clear and I had a mind set on where I see myself in ten years. Becoming a pediatrician will allow me to reach my life long goals of helping others. As a pediatrician caring for young children, I will be able to impact the lives of not only the patients but their families as well. While caring for patients will be an enormous part of my life, I also wish to raise a close-knit family with an admirable husband; while all still being a strong independent woman. After obtaining a doctorate degree I hope to gain employment at a world renowned pediatric hospital, such as St. Jude’s Hospital, Rainbow Babies Hospital, or even the Cleveland Clinic.
