When we go through our lives we sometimes are in too much of a hurry to do the things we need to accomplish. Sometimes we make it more complicated than it needs to be by adding technology and not slowing down to appreciate the greater things in life such as nature. If you look around while in public sometime you will notice how many people are just sitting there on their phones or other technology. The tech epidemic of the world has gotten so bad that there are even televisions in the gas pumps at most gas stations. Henry David Thoreau is most likely rolling in his grave right now because of this. He played a major role in the conservationist movement of the mid to late 19th century.

It seems obvious that he was the perfect example of a man that could live simply and still accomplish the goals that he set out to complete. He most definitely accomplished his goal because he is officially known as the most famous person of the transcendentalist movement. The publishing of books is not nearly as easy as it may seem it usually takes a big team of editors and many other smaller jobs to accomplish making a book but in his case he did it pretty much all by himself and “Walden was published in 1854, seven years after [he] ended his stay in a small cabin near Walden Pond” (Schwaber).

A lot of times when faced with a big task people get anxious and think that they can’t handle it on their own if someone is truly dedicated they can complete almost any task. If you have the drive to do it you will find time. For instance, “ Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star” (Thoreau, Walden). Many people work under the impression that you can only work during the day but if you want something done you may have to make sacrifices such as working into the night and anything can be accomplished if the right amount of time and dedication is
