Henry V life by Andrew Consolo It was a muddy day at the Battle of Agincourt. England had just won the battle against France, even though England had fewer men than France. This is why King Henry V's experiences leading up to the time he became king prepared him to lead an army against France. The reason it prepared Henry to become king was his childhood. Henry V learned some valuable lessons growing up to be king, therefore he learned how to hunt, ride a horse, and speak Latin, English, and French as well as what happened to England and France in the past. Since Henry V learned how to speak French, that probably helped him communicate with France. In the text, it states “Edward III marched into France starting a war that lasted until 1453 the hundred-year war.” (Childress 6) If this war had never happened King Henry V would probably not be the same. Henry V's life was mostly about war and military and being a king but how did he learn to do it, he was born to do it at a young age.” At 16 he commanded part of his father's army,” (“Henry V” 2) Henry at only 16 led a part of an army. England trusted a kid to lead their army. That's how you know he’s good. Henry V was fighting in a battle and got shot in the face with a bow and arrow. That experience probably gave Henry V a lesson in the army. Henry V probably had that motivation in the 100-year war he wanted to win for England and be that
