350 Words2 Pages
Herbert Hoover attempted to fight the Depression unfortunately his actions and ideas failed to impact the devastation of the Depression. Hoover tried several different ideas to battle the Depression and some successes were obtained however they did not last long. Some of the efforts Hoover tried were ideas such as using federal funds to provide loans to railroads and large corporations. He believed by doing this the money would make its way down to lower workers thus fixing the economic problems. However this was not the case because little money trickled down. He also allowed states to take out loans to pay for relief. Again it was not successful because most states did not want to borrow that money because it would put them further into debt.
