Their goals also had differences like how many risks they took and also the level of risk each took. Hatshepsut risked her chance at being a Pharaoh, she did that by slowly taking more power from the Pharaoh. Meanwhile, Perseus risked his life. Perseus risked his life to become a hero by taking a chance and slaying Medusa. Perseus could have been turned to stone by Medusa but kept his promise to Athena, The Giant, and Hermes.
The myth and Medusa is discussed in the poem “perseus” and the story “Heroes Every Child Should Know” Perseus was a brave boy who killed a monster with snake hair and eyes of stone named Medusa. Medusa was a monster with snake hair,and eyes of stone,she would turn people to stone if you looked her in the eyes. An epic hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to endure overwhelming obstacles. In Edith Hamilton’s Mythology, three heros named Perseus, Theseus, and Hercules exhibit different traits that affect their journey in a positive or negative way. Perseus receives supernatural help, Theseus displays incredible strength, and Hercules has a fatal flaw that will end tragically, these qualities are what classify each as an epic hero.
Not only did Hercules change history but he changed many others perspective on life. With hero's journey having ended, he is given his final reward. His father, Zeus, creates a picture of Hercules in the stars in order to commemorate his true heroism. Things for Hercules will never be the same again.
Perseus and Percy both have a brains over brawn theme. Although it is modernized in The Lightning Thief because Percy goes to a special camp for half bloods, which is more realistic nowadays. When Perseus tries to cut off Medusa's head, he looks through the reflection on his mirroring shield, while it is much more modern in the book as Percy looks through a reflection on a glass. The items in The Lightning Thief are more updated. In the book Percy uses a lot more knowledge than in the myth.

An epic hero is one of great strengths and supernatural abilities. Beowulf is unable to be harmed by certain weapons, and Hercules has great strength. They also both go on a quest. Beowulf seeks to kill the evil Grendel, Hercules set out on a quest to complete the 12 labors.
Hercules and Theseus, two great heroes from mythology, seem to be similar in many ways. Both extremely brave and noble; with a love of danger and adventure mixed with compassion, creates the perfect heroes. Their stories intertwine with one another’s when Hercules has to save Theseus from the chair of forgetfulness in Hades. Theseus saved Hercules when he was distraught with intent to kill himself. In a similar way, they both stood by their friends no matter the cost.

Many heroes are considered role models as they make brave decisions attempting to do something extraordinary. He is supernatural and immortal.
Mythology is a collection of myths and stories belonging to a particular belief system or cultural tradition. Even though there are a variety of different myths taught around the world, Greek mythologies are more famously known for their fruitful stories and complex relationships. Greek mythologies mostly concern their gods and heroes such as; Hercules, Achilles, Theseus, and Perseus. Of the many Greek heroes, Jason is the most heroic due to the fact that although he is abandoned at a very young age, he is still able to survive, also he proves to Hera the goddess who hated heroes that he is worthy to be favoured by her, and he completes the impossible quest of the Golden Fleece. Jason is born in a very superior family, having a father who is the lawful king of Iolcus.
Hercules shows that he is a hero through the task he complete within in the movie and the Myth. In the end Hercules makes it back to Mt.Olympus in both stories and he completes the missions that were given to
Just like nearly any other hero in the Greek mythology world Perseus' life was a very interesting one, full of adventures. He was the son of the god Zeus and Danae. His reputation and character quickly turned him into a local hero of Argos. However, his life wasn’t just a smooth one, I where he had two caring parents who never left. In reality long before Perseus was out of his mom, Danae’s womb, there was more to the story of his birth.
They both fit this because they both basically follow the Hero’s Journey exactly, some parts being left out, but the majority of them are there. They are both called by another person to save their mothers in a way, Perseus being told by the king to kill Medusa and Percy being told by Hades to find the bolt. They both don’t refuse the call and are eager to take their mother back. They each have their own guide that helps them along the way.

Hercules is my epic hero because of his heroic actions, his immortality, and the courage he possesses. The first and most important reason why Hercules is my epic hero is because he managed to do everything in a heroic manner and the difficult tasks he overcame.
