Social psychology is a branch of study that focuses on the human actions in the society. In the social psychology, the most important part is the self in the society. Many people have their personal self-concept for themselves, and self-concept can help people identify the site and power for people. The self-esteem, self-knowledge, self-motives may all influence people’s behavior. But we cannot deny that although the self-concept can influence human behavior, other people’s mind or action can also affect human’s decision or actions. In the social psychology, there is a terminology to summarize these mental phenomena, which is the herd mentality. Herd mentality has another name, which is conformity. It means people’s judgment or the personal behavior may change by other people’s actions. There are plenty of conformities in our daily life, such as advertising herd and student herd. If people want to far away from the herd mentality, they have to be sane and steadfast. Bon (1895) said that people in this world are quite different. However, the herd mentality makes people have only one mood. This is a very obvious trait of herd mentality. Herd mentality let everyone become similar, and it let people not only satisfy on their respective life, but only want to have the life that other people have. Herd mentality shows a lot of negative inpact from everywhere. All of these effects tell people that we should not let the herd mentality to control our life. Just as Bon (1895) maintained, we should change the situation and convince ourselves. Otherwise, the herd mentality can break people’s mind, and let many people to lose their goals. Herd mentality makes everyone have a similar life. Meanwhile, it also changed the way of people to think and the method for people to
