1.) Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador whose expedition led to the conquering of the Inca Empire. He was born around 1476 in Trujillo, Spain. He and his family lived in an area of poverty and he did not even have the ability to read. Francisco and along with Vasco Nunez de Balboa, discovered the Pacific Ocean.

After just two months after the Narvaez expedition, the treasurer of the Narvaez expedition, Cabeza de Vaca, landed on Galveston Island along with 250 other castaways. Their dreams of colonization and riches had morphed into a quest for survival. However, the real question is: How did Cabeza de Vaca survive? Cabeza de Vaca survived because of his wilderness skills, his success as a healer and his respect for the Native Americans.
The Conquistador of the New World Cabeza de vaca had a purpose for taking sail in 1527. Cabeza de vaca wanted to establish settlements along the gulf coast. Cabeza de vaca's ship went off course so they had to build rafts and leave the ship after they left the ships a strong wind blew them out into the open sea. Some people say he landed in modern day galveston. Which he was healed captive as a slave for a tribe called charrucos, he was healed as a healer.
The 16th century Spanish explorer, Hernando De Soto arrived in the west indies as a young man and made money in slave trade. Seeking glory and riches, he left on a major expedition in 1538 to conquer Florida for Spain. He and his men traveled throughout the southeastern united states in search of money. In 1541, De Soto became the first Europeans to cross the Mississippi river. De Soto died early the following year.
Núñez was treasurer to the Spanish expedition under Pánfilo de Narváez that reached what is now Tampa Bay, Florida, in 1528. By September all but his party of 60 had perished; it reached the shore near present-day Galveston, Texas. Of this group only 15 were still alive the following spring, and eventually only Núñez and three others remained. In the following years he and his companions spent much time among nomadic Indians, serving as slaves in order to be cared for by them. Núñez later reported that he had pretended at times to be a healer in order to receive better treatment and more food from the Indians.
Therefore, the only people were left with was to die. On October 18th, 1540, the Unions have finally had enough and ambushed the Spanish once and for all. This was a turning point for De Soto’s hope in finding gold. De Soto began to feel like he had failed at his

He played a very significant role in explorations, discoveries, and the colonization of America. Ponce de Leon was one of the most influential explorers and a great governor for Puerto Rico.
Juan Ponce de León has been killed by natives on his voyage as according to his crew who has arrived back. He was to colonize the land, which he did. However, he needed to conquer the land and take it from the natives. He brought about 50 soldiers with him and many weapons. However, it seems that the European weapons that they brought were less effective for close-range fighting and they were forced to retreat.

Hernan Cortes was born on 1485 in Medellin, Spain. Medellion was neighbored by Estramuda, which was known for the large amounts of conquistadors that hailed from there (Herrick 130). Estramuda and the surrounding towns were also known for being strong supporters of the estemadura shrine which was the original inspiration for the name Guadalupe. Hernan Cortes first landed on Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1504, he came with 600 men with the sole purpose of setting an establishing position in the Americas (Hamnett 59). European explorers and conquistadors during the age of exploration were motivated by three things: God, gold and glory. The two most prominent of the three between 1492 and 1607 were gold and glory. Beginning in 1492 gold motivated many explorers, from Christopher Columbus’s voyage to the New World to the Virginia Company’s colonization of America. Gold is a symbol for wealth, and many explorers soon realized the New World’s potential for wealth. The Spanish’s interest in wealth inspired Columbus’s expedition in the first place, as he was sent to India to trade for spices.
A few of the places he found were San Salvador, he sailed until he reached Cuba and eventually Haiti. Soon, after all, this happened more explorers were going over to the new world, just as Columbus did. They were going over there hoping to find new land to claim for Spain. One of these other explorers was, Juan
