The time has finally come we've been waiting all day for this moment. Hester Prynne has committed one of the worst sins possible, adultery, and the whole town is now here awaiting to see what her punishment shall be. As she is being escorted out of the jail we notice she has a child with her, although no one knows who the father is, we also see a scarlet letter “A” on her chest. I think about this for a moment, as shes being to the scaffold so we can all see her be questioned by the magistrates, and wonder how this could possibly be a form of punishment to the level she deserves? The chatter and pointing among the crowd you can tell is humiliating Hester, however she seems to be a strong woman and is trying not to let it all bother her. Although
