This shouldn’t happen, because for one PEDS can ruin your body, and if somebody openly knows about the drug use they are only adding to the harm. Another reason is that there is always someone on the team who works just as hard without PEDS who deserves a chance to shine. Professional athlete’s use of PEDS sets a bad example for young athletes, by showing that you don’t have to necessarily work hard, but you could just take the easy way out and pop a few pills, but hopefully as an athlete becomes older the government can try to regulate their use of these substances as they do alcohol, tobacco, and prescription
Drugs are a big issue in the sports industry. Many athletes will take performance-enhancing drugs, such as steroids, to help them play better. These types of drugs should not be allowed because it gives the player a greater advantage over other players who are playing with their natural ability. This issue could be solved if there was monthly drug testing and if the drug was not so easy to get ahold of. Many major league baseball players are getting caught using performance-enhancing drugs.
Drugs For Thugs “A positive drug test can destroy an athlete 's career and tarnish his or her legacy”(Porterfield,25). Fans look up to athletes as role models but since fans look up to them so much they do things to stay at the top of there games. Yes athletes want to be the best in the league but it doesn 't take drugs to become that it takes hard work so why do it. So I think there should be a harsher punishment for athletes caught using steroids and performance drugs because of health problems, it gives them an unfair advantage plus it gives the sport and athletes a bad reputation.
If you don't know what the 4th Amendment is, it guards against unreasonable searches and seizures. If students are tested for drugs they may get discouraged about life and want to commit suicide, or they might not try as hard in their school work. Student athletes should not be tested for drugs because it takes money out of their education. Student athletes should not be tested for drugs because it takes money out of their education. However only .5%-2% of drug tests are found to be positive, but the estimated percentage of athletes using PEDs is 14%-39% 3. Coaches and athletes suggest that the actual percentage of users is much higher. This is evidence that even though PEDs are banned from professional sports, they are still being used, and drug tests are barely effective. PEDs should be allowed to level the playing field for all athletes, because they will be used regardless if they are allowed.
That's why I think athletes should be required to take a drug test before playing a sport. If a student is really interested in that sport he or she will try to maintain being healthy. Drugs are very dangerous and if the student is playing a sport this may cause them to stop trying hard.
The reason why is too many athletes are getting arrested and dying from using too much steroids. I think they should get banned and the athletes should perform to their natural ability. I also think that the athletes would perform better without use of steroids. So therefore the research and I think that performance enhancing drugs and steroids should be
“Before steroids, records were made to be broken. Now they’re stolen,” is a quote that many know. The number of athletes who use steroids is staggering. First of all, the health effects could create huge problems for the athletes. Next, the consequences for using steroids are huge.
Athletes should not be allowed to use Steroids How would a professional athlete feel if another one won the Most Valuable Player award while using Anabolic Steroids or in other words cheating? Most likely not very good. Athletes using Performing-Enhancing Drugs (PEDS) has been a problem for over twenty years now in multiple sports. Professional Athletes intake of Anabolic Steroids is a reoccurring problem in every sport due to it being tremendously unhealthy, it’s illegal; also it gives players unfair advantages of others.
“Performance-enhancing drugs absolutely give athletes advantages in strength and endurance, which helps them both in the preparation for their sport as well as the actual implementation of the skills needed in many ways for the different sports.” (Argintar) Anything that can make an athlete better in an unfair way that can not be done by all athletes should not be allowed, especially something this harmful. Anything that is not worked for and earned should not be given in the form of a pill. This also lessens the actual wonder of an amazing athlete that is not doping, because due to the amount of people doping today we just tend to assume they are using something they should not be using to be that athletic or
Athletes should take mandatory drug test so they will stop using enhancing drugs to take the easy way to get better and have to suffer all the side effects. First, there should be drug test so professional athletes will not take the easy way to get better. keep athletes from using PEDs are overzealous, unproductive, unfairly administered, and bound to fail.(“Performance-Enhancing Drug Testing Is Ineffective.” ) If they are bound to fail athletes
In conclusion, Performance Enhancing Drugs should not be tolerated in any sport, whether professional or amatuer. These drugs are highly dangerous and even lethal to all athletes who use them. It is also unfair to athletes who choose not to use these drugs, as they are performing on their hard work and talent and not relying on an “edge” to help them reach their goals. These drugs are highly addictive, just like any other street drug or alcohol and can be fatal in many cases.
Drugs not only affect athletes lives but also the people around you. Drugs kill people sometimes and make people go insane. When people do drugs they put the people around them at risk so if one is doing a sport you could rage and seriously hurt someone. As a result of all the chaos arizona introduced drug testing. Arizona has a mandatory drug test for athletes yearly at the beginning of the season.
Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) have been used in sports for many years. The common term for it is doping. It is one of the most important issues among professional athletes today. Doping should not be allowed in professional sports.
