It is my desire to become a member of Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc., to once again have the brotherhood and comradery that I was able to experience while in the Army. Promoting the values, lesson and knowledge I attained during my military service as wells as those set forth in Kappa Lambda Chi’s mission, is something I encourage when mentoring children on daily basis in my job as a school resource officer. My current position allows me to interact with people from all walks of life, providing me with an avenue to inspire those around me. Becoming a member of Kappa Lambda Chi enables me to further my personal knowledge, while being another avenue for me to impart wisdom, promote fidelity and encourage high ambition to today’s youth

I wish to be considered for an assignment as a Lieutenant within the Fusion Liaison & Intelligence Training Unit, Regional Operations & Intelligence Center. Enlisted members of the Fusion Liaison & Intelligence Training Unit have the fundamental responsibility of providing intelligence support, threat assessments, and crime-pattern analysis to law enforcement agencies. A Lieutenant in this unit must have certain experience and qualities suited to the work product of the unit. I believe my previous work experience in the ROIC, Electronic Surveillance Unit and my current role as the Assistant Unit head of the MAPPS/Special Projects Unit as well as the Risk Assessment Core Group ( RACG) Leader has prepared me for the position of Lieutenant
This model of professional development must be progressive and with a common career map for all NCOs. Focusing on the five lines of effort that are, military life cycle, education, assignment / experience, credentialing / experience and self-development. These lines of effort are focused on the tasks and missions that are link in establishing the operational and strategic conditions of the future. The development of future NCO will depend on how the leaders of the present will train in an institutional, operational and self-development way to the new generation. Responsibility and commitment is much greater because the war models have changed and have allowed the broadening assignments, operational assignment and professional assignment, in this way the combination of both generations will allow shared responsibility and stewardship for U.S.
The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is a program that was designed to teach high school students citizenship values, personal responsibility, and leadership all while using a military structure to teach students teamwork and self discipline. JROTC prepares the future of our nation to be a law abiding citizens in society. With the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916, JROTC was born. Today, in the 21st century, JROTC differs from 100 years ago. Without a doubt, JROTC will change in the 22nd century to adapt to social norms like today.
Once looked upon primarily as a source of enlisted recruits and officer candidates, it became a citizenship program devoted to the moral, physical and educational uplift of American youth. The program continues its military structure and the result ability to infuse in its student cadets a sense of discipline and order, it shed most of its early military content. The study of citizenship, communications, leadership, life skills and other subjects to prepare young men and women to take their place in adult society. A generation ago, a man left his young wife and flew over an ocean he could hardly pronounce, his dreams heavy in his thin trousers. His wife followed him two** years later, her father recently buried back home. Against everything he knew, the man turned from medicine to computer engineering; despite her language barrier, the woman pursued a career in law. He worked two jobs to support his wife through law school, and she took a waitressing job when she wasn’t studying, so that they might keep what little they had. At night, they taught each other English, their mouths silently forming sounds with the radio.
I have been able to integrate the skills and values I have learned at DePaul to my professional affairs. Throughout my time at DePaul, I have also been a high school baseball coach for Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy. From my experience at DePaul, I have incorporated skills that include team management focused on leadership development, interpersonal communication, personal accountability, patience, and development. In Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy first baseball season, I was able to lead our team to a winning record and a playoff win. As a result of this experience, I believe that my skills would help in assisting the YMCA mission to develop strong children, families, and communities.
My steadfast desire to attend a service academy is rooted from my determination to become the best officer I can possibly be. Service academies focus on a career in the military which has become by life 's dream. The atmosphere at a service academy ensures I will have every resource available to help me mature mentally, morally, and physically to reach my goal. Traditional colleges or universities may offer some military oriented courses such as ROTC programs, however, I am not seeking a course, I am seeking a lifestyle which is assured at a service academy. I feel the daily rigors presented at a service academy will help me prepare for the challenges I will be faced within the fleet more so than a traditional college or university.
Upon the completion of an interview process and a summer training session corps members are required to get teaching certification in the state they are placed in. Corp members are then placed in areas of highest need to teach the nation’s most disadvantaged students. While corps members are teaching, they are evaluated by their principals, fellow teachers, and TFA directors. The program is designed to last 2 years. Afterwards, corps members may continue teaching or transition into a new career.
By active community service, leadership roles, and hard work, I have learned the incredible importance of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through these things, I have been substantially prepared by the Beta Club to serve others as I depart high school and

The essay, The Seven Lesson Schoolteacher, by John Taylor Gatto addresses educational curriculum with a cynical truth that transpires around the United States. His brutal honesty grasps the reader by using common sense and a hint of sarcasm to appeal to humor. The main point of his argument in my perception, states that we must develop children to be critical thinkers and not always agree with authority. By allowing the schooling in a child’s development expecting them to not question an adult’s words does lead to a population that has accepted being dumbed down. Following what has been indicated, a direct quote positions people deprived forever of finding the center of their own special genius (Gatto, part III, pars 3).
