I threw my books on the bed, and approached the jacket slowly, as if it were the celebrity I was dying to meet. I picked up the jacket, and blushed in excitement. As I examined inside and out, the the leather vinyl, the warmth in the future years, and especially the ten black buttons shining like perfectly polished shoes. I heard my mom call and tell me that my jacket was in the closet, but I prayed that it wasn't in there. Thankfully there was no other jacket in there, so I slipped off my old jacket put the new one on, and was already searching for my comb to see how I looked. As I combed my hair I realized how Handsome I looked. I thought to myself, with this jacket I will make all of the other kids look like puny little ants. I got a B on my math quiz, but was excited when I tripped and Frankie T., the playground terrorist helped me up when he would usually tell me to stay there until recess was over. As I walked around the park there were more girls than usual hanging out with me. The teachers stared at me in a face making them look like a dog begging for more food. Although I was toasting like a hippo whos been in the sun too long, I kept that jacket on. I played kickball with all of the other boys, and felt like I was in the Big League playing under the lights. The fire alarm went off minutes after we started playing. As I got in line with all of my other classmates, I watched kids and teachers turn my way and their jaws drop, like they were just asked to be on one of the most popular shows ever.
