Did you know that “a survey conducted by the Minnesota State High School League in 2007 and reported by the NFHS found that the average GPA of a high school athlete was 2.84, while a student who was not involved in athletics had an average GPA of 2.68.”( 10 Reasons Why High School Sports Benefit Students paragraph 5). I think that it should be a requirement to play sports because it helps with grades and it gets students involved in the school. I will be talking about how sports reduces the chance of athletes doing drugs and teen pregnancy rates going down. I also will be talking about what skills sports help build. for example sports give you leadership skills teamwork and many other skills. I think it should be a requirement to play sports because like i stated above Minnesota state high school league did a survey and with athletes their gpa was .2 points higher than a normal person who doesn't play sports.
