This debate is talked about why it is important that government implement higher food taxes to limit negative eating patterns of food which have a detrimental effect on the environment and society.

Firstly, Fast food is the term given to food that can be prepared and served very quickly. But, it is not the proper way for nutrition. Fast food is often high in fat, sugar and calories. Fast food may include chips, pasties, sandwiches, croissants, pizzas, chicken, and soups. However, fast food may cause bad effects; this can lead to an increased risk for illness and diseases. Fast food is harmful to health. It is a cause of various diseases. People who usually eat fast food, they are less likely to eat fruits, vegetables, and milk . This change in eating habits can easily lead to obesity. A lot of teenagers eat fast food everyday. So, this habit makes them obese; an American writer said: “The statistics in America, more than one of three adults is considered obese, the authorities in America focus on unhealthy foods to limit the obesity”. Thirdly, the wrong habits of foods and drinks cause water retention; one of the main causes of water retention is eating too much salty food. The main component of salt is sodium. Salt makes us thirsty, and our body will hold on to this water. According to daily health post (2017); “Everybody experiences bloating and swelling of some sort every once in a while, but water retention can be a serious condition.
