Nobody is perfect, such a simple phrase that is capable of meaning a great many things. For example, it can be used to describe Hillary Clinton. Clinton has been in the public eye since the early 1979 as the first lady of Arkansas and now in 2016 since she was the first woman to successfully run for president on a major political party. (“Hillary Clinton Biography,” n.d) Although, Clinton has had numerous roles in the government she has had her fair share of flaws. Clinton's past mistakes should not dwindle her many accomplishments. One of her accomplishments is being secretary of the state. Being secretary of the state is not a typical job it is hard but rewarding.

She was always a teacher’s pet. Since the age of 12, Clinton became interested in the world of politics due to her father who was a conservative. (Elovitz, 2016) When Clinton was young, she campaigned for Republican Presidential nominee Barry Goldman in 1964. However, after hearing a moving speech of Martin Luther King Jr. Clinton became a democrat in 1968. (Elovitz, 2016) In 1975, Hillary married Bill Clinton who also attended Yale University. As her husband’s career grew, hers did too. Hillary worked at a prestigious law firm where she often did pro bono work for children. (“Hillary Clinton Biography,” n.d) She became the first lady of Arkansas and then the nation when Bill became president. Clinton has been a huge advocate for children; she aided in the program CHIP and worked in increasing early childhood education as the first lady. (“Hillary Clinton Biography,” n.d) Clinton became senator of New York from 2001-2009. She was the first lady to earn a seat in public office. Clinton has become one of the most influential women in the world. She is a political speaker and author with five published books.
