Visual Display Assignment Victoria Liesel lived in Himmel Street with her foster family, at the beginning, I thought she was so poor, her brother was dead and her mother did not have the ability to raise her up, therefore her mother send Liesel to foster family and never contact with Liesel anymore. How do you feel about Death's soup analogy?. After the war began, there are more and more people had been forced to join in the War. The author wrote this paragraph to describe the circumstance at that time, it can illustrates the images to the readers directly. I hold the perspective that it was a scene after bombing, the author used similes to describe that environment, the sky was like soup, boiling and stirring. In the street where Liesel was living becomes shambles, the sky was red and there were black crumbs and pepper across the redness. I think the black crumbs and pepper were the metaphor of debris and rubbles. While a place was burning and bombing by others, the debris of houses would be bombing to the sky. On the poster, I made the picture that shown up in my mind while I was reading this quotes at the first time. The sky was red with some debris there, in the street, people’s corpse were just lying on the ground. Some of the houses only left the frame, others had already collapsed and changed to a heap of rubble.
