In the passage by Nishpapananda called “Hinduism, Happiness, and the Good Life” he tells about the two types of happiness in the Hinduism religion. The first type of happiness comes from achievement and pleasure. The second type of happiness comes from directly from God. To gain both of these types of happiness we have to ask ourselves four questions. These four questions are the four aims in life. Dharma (what universal duties do humans have?), artha (is having things, objects and substances really that important?), kama (do we have pleasure that is not limited by physical pleasure?) and moksha (Do we seek out the mystical experience of divine peace?). No matter what your religion is or what you believe this passage explains great principles that everyone should strive to live by. We should want to follow these ideas, so that we can attempt to have the best life, possible. I think it is very import for people to learn the importance of being a human being. We have certain duties that we need to fulfill. We are responsible for helping and serving everything around us, and not let the world consume us. We need to be aware of the distractions around us like worldly things and we need to be able to enjoy the simple pleasure in life. Especially today, in the 21st century, with all the technology and things this is really important to remember.
