I. Introduction: Not only is dance an aspect of entertainment and leisure, dance is a form of communication and is also an art. With this being said, dance provides more than fun, it is educational and beneficial to anyone who chooses to participate in it. With this being said, knowing the history of dance is important for apparent reasons, especially if you’re a dancer or have a passion for dance. You can gain a lot from studying in dance. To start off with, dance is an excellent source for cardio. Also, dance allows you to relive stress, whenever you’re going through anything.Studying dance allows for people to virtually travel to past times and learn about different cultures and lifestyles. The origins of hip-hop culture, contributions to style, different styles of hip-hop, techniques, mechanics, performance ethics and expectations, advancements in different aspects of hip-hop is important to gather s true understanding of it. There’s been great debates about the origins of hip-hop music. The History of Hip-Hop dance represents the people along with the events since the late 1960s that have contributed to the development of the early hip- hop dance styles: uprock, breaking, locking, roboting, boogaloo, and popping.
