Three decades on from its birth in the ravaged communities of the South Bronx, hip-hop has become, at least in young people, a universal language of disaffection and revolt (Wallis 1). Rap music went from an underground movement from the streets of 1970s New York City to a massive force in the music industry. Hip-hop is known as a culture movement. Hip-hop is a pleasing art form, formed by African-Americans and Latinos in the late seventies. Its formation derives from a young generation of African-Americans in South Bronx, New York. The music has always remained centered in urban landscapes, with most performers of the music rising up from the inner-city neighborhoods. Throughout its history, hip-hop has centered on the rhythm of the beat rather than the melody, which shows the connection between modern hip-hop and traditional African tribal music, often featuring complex polyrhythms and little to no melody. In todays world today, citizens socially construct the interpretation of most rap and hip hop songs. To every rap or hip-hop song, a community would have to go through a struggle to understand the message in a song. Violence in rap, and in other forms of self-expression, is the manifestation of a feeling of hopelessness and discontent in America's working class, especially working-class minority communities. By pointing to rap as the cause of violence, politicians attempt to erase from the consciousness of their constituents the history of oppression that has given birth to hip-hop culture. Tupac Shakur was more of a symbol of rap and its violence. Tupac Shakur was a martyr of the rap and hip-hop world. Tupac Shakur subject matter were about women's rights, teenage pregnancy, and his love of his mother. There are more communities that can relate to poverty, and law enforcement. The law enforcement plays a big role in the minority communities and the music they listen too. Especially the government. People have many different problems in their lives and their reactions are also different. Some of them prefer to talk about these problems directly; some choose another way that is indirectly, such as music. Hip-hop is a reaction for people to show what happens in their lives. Although all music types have the same function, many people prefer this music type to tell what they feel without using exaggerated artistic lyrics since everything is pure and real in
