On 30 April 1945, it was reported that Adolf Hitler had killed himself. This news was one of the largest turning points in the war and finalized the victory for the Allied Powers. However, despite years of people all conveying the same thing, new evidence has shown that the story the world has been told might be different than what they thought. This led to the conspiracy theories that are known today about Hitler not dying in the bunker and escaping to Brazil and Argentina. Conspiracy theories are ideas people create when they do not know the entire story, or when events in a story are too coincidental and are not entirely backed by rock-solid evidence. One of the most astounding pieces of evidence was, “a photo that allegedly proves this theory challenging the official story that says that Hitler died after losing World War II and shooting himself in a Berlin bunker in 1945” (“Hitler died at 95.”). Because of this photo, it could give some evidence to suggest that he was in Brazil for a short while. To further her research, Dias “is now planning to use DNA tests using a relative of Hitler living in Israel, after being given permission to exhume Adolf Leipzig’s remains from his alleged final resting place in Nossa Senhora do Livramento” (“Hitler died at 95.”). DNA testing could give more concrete evidence of this theory of Hitler not dying in Berlin. Moreover, the FBI conducted an investigation into claims that Adolf Hitler had survived and found evidence to support this theory. On top of these facts, Robert Hutchinson sided with the conspiracy about Adolf Hitler faking his death and leaving for Argentina. In his book The Death of Hitler, Robert explains what happened a couple of months after WW2 ended and where Hitler was. His evidence shows that in 2009, “a U.S. forensic team announced that a piece of Hitler’s skull held in Soviet archives was not actually Hitler’s” (“What Really Happened.”). Also, the FBI released “previously classified files detailing investigations surrounding Hitler’s possible escape” (“What Really Happened.”). These facts show that there was an overwhelming amount of interest from governments around the world wanting to find out about this theory. Some may claim that Hitler killed himself on 30 April 1945. They could argue that when overcome with the humiliation of the defeat, he could not take the punishment or shame and kill himself. Some historians, including Deutsche Welle, report to have evidence as to why he died and it has to do with his teeth.
