Foiled Plot of Nazism in the United States Steven Ross’s book, Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America, Leon Lewis, who is a Jewish attorney and the master spy, orchestrates a plot to infiltrate the Friends of New Germany (FNG) and expose their plot to the rest of the world. What the Friends of New Germany are trying to do, is gather American Disabled Veterans who fought in World War I, to unite with the Nazis and change the American government. The reason why the Nazis are targeting the veterans is because the Nazis felt as if the veterans were given the lower end of the stick in the New Deal, which they call it the “Jew Deal”. The ways that the Nazis plotted their killings were strategic and thought out. One example that they devised was starting a fake business to kill. The method of killing was, “Instead of using the normal chemicals, his fake firm would drop cyanide into an acid solution and, using hoses and portable blowers, inject the poisonous gas into Jewish homes and synagogues. This would “kill them instantly,” and thousands would be “strangled to death at once… women… children Jews of all sorts… Exterminated like rats, that is the way to get rid of them” (Ross, 165). From the beginning when Lewis realized there was a plot for the Nazis to take control of the United States government, no one would listen to him. When he would go to the police, FBI, agencies they would pay him no mind in help fighting the Nazis, they were too focused on Communism. The book states that, “I appealed to everyone… but nobody would pay attention to me” (Ross, 47). If no one in the United States government were willing to help out Lewis and his want to take down the Nazi regime that was unfolding in the United States. If the government were to find out the Friends of New Germany were trying to recruit people with a military background, then the government would have stepped in to put an end to the
