In this article ‘’More Than $21,500 Donated By Hockey Canada And Hockey Alberta’’ I learned the major wildfire in Fort McMurray had an impact on Canadians and hockey there was changed. 90,000 people evacuated Fort McMurray and the Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association wanted to help the community. My thoughts on this article are happy because the Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association wanted to take action by helping out their community and bring hockey back. My connection to this article is the Great Fire of 1910, this occurred in North Idaho. This wildfire burned about three million acres and it killed eighty seven firefighters. It was the biggest wildfire in U.S. history and it lasted for two days. Hockey jerseys and equipment needed to be cared for and people needed a place to play hockey. More than 1,100 players registered and there were sixty teams. In March, there would be an Hockey Alberta Atom AA Major provincial championship. My thoughts on this article is by not giving up you can achieve anything. My connection to this article is about a man named Karl Subban, who made dreams come true. Mr. Subban partnered with a corporate sponsor and created Hyundai Hockey Helpers, which offered up to $1000 to kids who can not afford to play hockey. The program helped 1,880 kids play hockey, Karl Subban did this because he said at the age of eleven his family could not afford to send him in
