It was an early, dark winter’s morning in January. As I walked into a warm lobby rolling my bag behind. There was a rush of people going every which way; you would never have guessed it was 6 in the morning. Everyone seemed so awake and ready for the day ahead of them. As I continues walking with my bag in one hand and my father’s hand in the other I could feel the cold approaching. It was a long narrow hallway which felt like it went on forever with a door at the end of it. As I sat on the bench my father slipped my skates on to my feet; which fit like a glove. It was the first time we were with each other 24/7. We were at an away trip spending a lot of time with one another we would go play mini hockey in the conference rooms or play tag in the halls or go swing in an outdoor pool in the middle of winter. I am sure someone people relaxing stay were not so relaxing do to us. I remember getting stuck in an elevator with a bunch of my team mates and us having to bond because were stuck for an hour. I remember getting in trouble with all of them for starting mini hockey fights with other teams staying at the hotel. Getting in trouble with another person is a real bonding moment I have come to discover because you see whether or not someone will through you under the bus and luckily for us no one did.
All in all, it taught me that I can stand my ground and that I am tough if I want to be or have to be. And finally, this experience taught me what the true meaning of being part of team really feels like. I can honestly say that all the hockey teams I have had over the years this is the one team that I keep in touch with most of my team mates and if I am asked about why I love hockey I always refer back that
