Holden emotion and problems My connection through the video called “stressed out” and the book called catcher in the rye Holden main point is being depressed and being stressed out in his life with problems and issues. Holden is having a lack of problems and issue was when holden thinks about his dead brother holden he feels that he will disappear or fall into an abyss when he steps off a curb to cross a street. Sometimes when this happens, he calls on his dead brother Allie for help. Holden says that about his dead brother “My brother Allie had his this left handed fielder mitt. He was left handed. The thing that was very descriptive about it though was he had poem written all over the finger and the pocket and everywhere.”(38) . He seemed …show more content…
His feelings are typically sad , feelings shared by virtually everyone who is or ever has been his age. One of the reasons he misses allie was he was a brother to him. “Allie, don't let me disappear. Allie, don't let me disappear. Allie, don't let me disappear. Please, Allie.” And then when I'd reach the other side of the street without disappearing, I'd thank him (198)”. Holden's panic attacks are of "falling," a reference to his Catcher fantasy and his fear of both growing up and dying.Holden Caulfield encounters himself facing issues of acceptance of death, growing up, and parental neglecting that prevents him from completely understanding why it is that he is severely depressed. Tyler admits that he’s not sure of himself and that though he doesn’t want to care “what people think,” he does. This mental illness demonstrates to affect teens as much as it affects adults. The song mentions that he and his friends would imagine they were going to outer space, suggesting a childlike belief in limitless possibilities. Now that he has to think about paying student loans, his opportunities for dreaming about doing big things and exploring are fewer having a bigger future to himself. This song is about growing up and realizing that you are human and that you don't quite live up to the ideals that society tells you you should. For example, society tells you "Don't care what other people think!" I think this song references that by saying "My names Blurryface and I care what you think." Plus I think Blurryface refers to the fact that he doesn't feel like he is just one person to the world. He is different things to different people, which goes against another rule that society imposes on us which is to have integrity is to be the same to all
