Holocaust Memorial
In 1933 the Holocaust began and many Jew’s in Europe were being transported to Concentration camps. Some of the Jews are younger than 2 months, and others were elders that are older than 70. Throughout the years many Jewish members either went to camps, or went into hiding to hide from German Soldiers. Some Jewish people had to be separated from their families, and others to survive in harsh weather either living in the woods, or hiding from the soldiers in houses. There were other people out there who had to help Jewish people into hiding, and people who helped them after the Holocaust after 1945 when they got liberated. The Holocaust …show more content…

Some kids during the Holocaust had to go to a horrible camp (Like Terezin), and during those times, they wrote poems (and drawings) on what it's like working at a Concentration camp. Some kids want to go home, and others want to work harder to survive. One example is a poem titled “Homesick,” saying “I’d like to go back home again, It makes me think of sweet spring flowers. Before When I used to live at home, It never seemed so dear and fair. I remember those golden days . . . But maybe I’ll be going there again soon.” (I Never Saw Another Butterfly). This poem states how this child wants to go back home really bad, and remember what it's like being back at home. After most of the Jewish people were Liberated in 1945, an organization decided to help Jewish survivors, whether it is giving them lots of food to give lots of energy, or finding their family that also survived in the Holocaust. In the article Survivors, “One of UNRRA chief goals was to get the lost children back to their home countries. Some eastern European nations quickly began to take in their displaced kids.” (Brown, Page 18). This shows us how kind people can bring Jewish people back to their families, and also let them become kids that can play, hangout, and also have fun with each other. This allows Jewish kids to become kids again. Basically there are organizations who help Holocaust survivors being back to their families, and having a normal life after the
