Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl living in Amsterdam during the occupation by the Nazis. She was forced to go into hiding above her father's work for two years to avoid prison. During her time in hiding, she kept a diary and wrote about her experience. Frank writes about her loving and compassionate family and also mentions how she has built new relationships with the other families in the house. In her diaries, Frank frequently emphasizes the value of family, emphasizing how her trials were made easier by the presence of those she loved who understood what she was going through.
The Franks originally lived peacefully in Germany, but as the Nazis gained power, they slowly moved to Amsterdam. The father, Otto, previously knew the city, and brought his family with him once he found a place to live (Kniesmeyer 519). Just to avoid confrontation, the Frank family moved from the place they called home their entire lives. Once they moved to Amsterdam, “Anne and Margot quickly adapted themselves to their new life. They learned Dutch and attended the local Montessori school” (Kniesmeyer 519).
It became hard for Anne, she was put into a segregated Jewish school, her father even had to give up his title in his business. On June 12, 1942 Anne got a diary for her birthday, this will later be the reason we know Anne Frank’s story. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s family were forced into hiding; it was no longer safe for their family to live in the outside world. She wrote in her diary “ The world will keep turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” The family spent two years in hiding, it wasn't till August 4, 1944 that the family was found by the police, they arrested everyone in hiding.

This havoc was created by Japan. It was very shocking because it was the only attack ever on American soil that was not an act of terror. The attack took place because of japan and Americans long time conflict and hatred.

The typical problems for a fifteen year is figuring out what career they want to pursue or what college they want to go, not wondering if today is going to be the day they die in a gas chamber or wondering if their family members are still alive. Anne Frank and her family are important to history because of the reason for them needing to go into hiding, the dangers, and of what ended up happening with their lives. This story is abut a girl that was writing her daily days while she was in the holocaust She was venting her fears and frustrations, and contemplating her everyday life. She was given the diary as a present from her parents in 1942, and named it Kitty. Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.
