There has been one school that I have been dreaming of attending ever since I was in third grade, one school that I believed would challenge me and help me achieve my future goals. That school is Holy Names Academy. Holy Names has so many different opportunities , challenging classes, and resources for their students that I would benefit from.
Holy Names has many challenging courses that will keep my passion for learning alive. I have always loved math and science. I have been playing volleyball for three years, last year I played on a club team. The Holy Names volleyball team is a team that I would be honored to play on. It would push me to develop time management skills and help me improve my game.
The career that has the most interest to me is being a biomedical engineer. When I was younger, I wanted to be a dentist until I found out that I had to remove teeth and that I may hurt someone. When my braces were put on I was fascinated at the actual design and how they work to move the teeth. I thought, “There must be a job that creates the braces.” After that, my desire to design braces and other medical equipment has become a driving passion. Holy Names has many great science and math classes that can help me reach my goal.
My final reason for wanting to attend Holy Names Academy is the environment. I visited Holy Names in October. Before that I had always wanted to attend Holy Names. After I visited, those wants and desires turned into my biggest eighth-grade goal. Not only did the classes fascinate me, but I was also drawn to the welcoming, hole-like community. I have visited a few other schools before my eighth- grade year, and none of them gave me a feeling like Holy Names did. At Holy Names I was anything but nervous.
