In the do it yourself home improvement industry, another competitor for Home Depot is the store Lowes. When looking at Home Depot, the products and services that this store offers to both the male and female genders. Although, when considering the environment, this is more often thought to be a more male environment. The products that they offer to customers apply to a wide range of ages for the current homeowner market base. In comparison, Lowes’s provides products and services for both male and females as well. Yet the environment seen at Lowe’s is often thought to be more conducive to the female gender. This is due to how Lowe’s works on making the environment of their stores have a sense of being able to improve the feel and look of the home by the products that they sell.
