While most white men are fighting right along your side in the war front, different people have to start working and running the plants. African American participation in the war is needed to help us win by running the plants. Women are needed as well. We are becoming more involved in the war by working jobs that we usually would not work, but this is one of the only ways that we know how to help. I know that by doing this, it is the only way that I can contribute in the war while being in the home front. I am worried about mom. She looks so tired from working so frequently. She gets up and works in a factory where she makes guns to be sent to all of our army bases for the war. Work has long hours and precision-demanding labor, which is very hard on her along with many other women in the war
