The Department of Homeland Security is on a vital mission to secure the nation from various types of threats we face. Established in 2002, the Department of Homeland security is made up of 22 different federal departments and agencies, made into a unified agency. DHS takes on many roles, but one that I think is not discussed enough is DHS' involvement with climate change. As their mission is to safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values, talking and taking action against climate change is vital to the mission. It is essential to understand DHS’s role in the climate change issue to deepen our understanding of what we should be doing to help the planet. The Department of Homeland Security is critical, and its current roles, actions, groups, and ways it can improve in relation to climate change are information that needs to be understood. These scholarly sources outline the involvement of Homeland Security in the issue of Climate change. These sources include action plans, action groups, and collaborating partners.
