Since first being introduced, U.S. car buyers have had a virtual love affair with the crossover SUV. Vehicles such as the 2016 Honda CR-V and HR-V offer buyers a wealth of features along with seating capacities reminiscent of the family station wagon that first gained popularity in the 50s. However, unlike the staid station wagon, the crossover is far more fuel efficient and far less boring. Both of these vehicles offer superior fuel economy and lower operating costs than their bigger cousins, the full-size SUV.
