Through serving others, I have come to realize that every person, regardless of one’s cultural background, has something to offer to the community. As an immigrant, I was quite hesitant about accepting new challenges. The fear of others’ judgment regarding my performance hindered my progress. However, through serving others in various capacities, I was able to interact and help people in my community, who themselves helped me overcome my fears. Whether helping patients at St. John Providence or assisting refugees at the American Red Cross, I was amazed as to how much my presence made a difference, especially for those who needed me to interpret for them.
Life and Death in Assisted Living Facilities Assisted living facilities are one of the fastest growing industries in the United States. Unfortunately, assisted living facilities have a history of being problematic. Specific cases from the movie Life and Death in Assisted Living Facilities indicates that assisted living facilities are often under staffed, poorly trained, and often admit elderly patients who are not qualified candidates for their facilities (Byker and Thompson, 2013). When taking this in to account, it is important to consider why families may admit their loved ones in to assisted living facilities.
First of all we have the Amedisys hospice physician, which treat the patients for their chronic illnesses when in need. We have the Registered Nurses, which give the medications and manages it to control the pain that are needed for the patients; also we have a 24/7 on call services for Hospice. We have social workers who documents the patients evaluation that determines if the patient is still eligible for hospice or not; and also we have the chaplains that’s there for their “Bereavement”. And last but not least is the Hospice Aide, which is my Job Title. I am the one that does most of the work, but the last in order; I document the patients daily routines, meaning their wounds, their skin tears, their personal care and promoting compassionate dignity and affirms quality of life for the patient, family members, and their loved
Today, abortion still one of the most controversial topics in our communities, some with the Idea that it's wrong (pro-life) and others that is totally okay that women should have control over their body (pro-choice). Even though, it became legal in 1973, there are a big amount of people opposing abortion as a moral wrong. In this paper I would like to talk about three different theories on abortion. First, the structural functionalist, second the conflict perspective theory and third the symbolic Interaction theory.

The five stages include denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
When a patient is at the end of life it is very important to value the patients self dignity and their decisions at the mere end of their lives. The end of life care is to relieve the weight of the patient 's shoulders physically and mentally. I approve of end of life caring. Basic end of life care is summarized by improving the care of quality of life and dignity of the ill person. The important themes to good ethics of end of life care is a combination of human rights, respect, dignified care, and privacy.
There’s a mean streak of people in this world today and they prefer them home. So that’s when the Hospice team leaders come in. They are always available 24/7 to treat the mind, body, and spirit. The team includes the caregivers, social workers, nurses, chaplains, and trained volunteers. The hospice care supports the patient’s and their family member, relief the patient’s pain and symptoms and help the family members and their love ones to whom want to stay close to their dying and sometimes long-term care.
The patient’s family is also cared for by hospice during and following the patient’s demise; however, this is not a service provided by
Funeral homes provide valuable burial and funeral services for many people. They are also known as "funeral parlors" or "mortuaries." The services which they may provide include preparing and holding a wake as well as the actual funeral or cremation. They offer many of these services themselves, but may also serve as a means of making arrangements with other businesses. It is very common for family members to choose a mortuary based on its proximity to their residence.
