Parents think that the more money they put into the child’s athletic expenses, they increase their chances of college scholarships and leading to a professional athletic career. An exceedingly amount of money can be spent on athletics because parents want to be able to provide every opportunity they can for their child to become better and to be successful. For example, at Jim-McLean Junior Golf Performance Academy, there are only twenty-four spots open each year for distinct private instruction. With limited entry comes at a cost of $39,875 to $58,875 annually. A noticeable agglomeration of money comes out of the family’s gross income to fund their child’s athletics.
Financial aid from the government would have provided him with the opportunity to go to school and receive more education. Those who have lower incomes will struggle when it comes to paying for higher education, but more education will help them earn a higher income later in life. Parents play a big role in their child’s lives because they provide a sense of direction for them. It is natural for a child to look up to his/her mom or dad. If a young adult doesn’t have the help from their parents who have already experienced college then they are already behind the kids who are able to use their parents as a resource. A quote by Nijay Williams in the article says, “My mom stopped school in the ninth grade; my dad stopped in the fourth grade … It makes it harder for me, [and] most of the people I graduated with are not in college, but that’s what I see myself doing; I want to go to college.

From this scenario, I have learned about systems theory as well as other psychological theories such attachment theory. Firstly, based on my research on “Family Systems Theory “(Murray B.) family systems theory suggest that an individual, in this case, Sinead, cannot be understood as an individual alone but instead as part of a family as a family is an emotional unit. Families in every aspect are systems of interdependent and interrelated individuals that cannot be understood if a single person is isolated and examined. Each member in the family, has a specific role to play and a set of rules in which they must follow. Maintaining a certain system in the family may lead to balance in the family but also to huge dysfunction.
Introduction In this case study, it analyse how the concept of family has changed in the past 20 years as it will be depicting modern family forms and past norms. It is important to look at how families have developed throughout the years up until the 21st century as we compare the two and elaborate on the difference and what makes it so significant. In this case study, it contrast and compare the television series Modern family which is a 21st century concept of family and The Simpsons which was adapted 27 years ago and how things have changed with family dynamics and what is the norm now which was not the norm years ago.
This essay discusses how the family is viewed by two different sociological perspectives- functionalism and conflict theory. Firstly, ‘family’ is defined. Secondly, the main ideas of functionalism will be discussed followed by how this theory perceives the family. The main ideas of Conflict Theory will then be examined and how conflict theorists perceive the family.
Like any other child, these children have right to a good education, which they can obtain at public schools. The National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth [NAEHCY] said "...many homeless youth wish to continue on to higher education…” Children living in temporary situations should be given an opportunity to earn a free college tuition by obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher while they are in high school. By the time teenagers reach the age of 18, they are faced with the question of where they will continue their studies. However, youth in temporary living situations struggle with tougher questions.
