The common belief is that the grass is greener on the other side. In this excerpt from “Staying Put: Making A Home in A Restless World” Scott Sanders utilizes an philosophical tone to argue that it is not necessarily true. In his response to Salman Rushdie’s essay, Sanders argues that the better thing is to instead make a place home for a lifetime, and he uses an assortment of rhetorical devices to develop his claim. Stagnation is intolerable, movement is manageable, is a common Western belief. In his essay, Sanders use irony in lines 3-8 to allow the reader to see how he views this conviction.
In the passage, Homeless by Anna Quindlen the central idea is our idea of home has changed. First, homes are no longer what they used to be because now they are real estate. This sentence itself is not opinion it’s fact because homes did you used to be about living there, but now it’s about price. Next, there was a time when where you lived is where everything happened like eating,grew and buried.
It is hard to imagine life as a homeless family. I hope that I’ll never have to move my family from shelter to shelter as some families must do every day. I’ve noticed that when writing a fieldwork you have to be able to step in and step out of the subculture you’re studying. You also must maintain your stand as an outsider and also be very detailed with your description in order to give the reader an insider view and know how it feels like to be part of that subculture. Thus you and the reader will have a deeper understanding of both yourself and the community you’re observing. In her Ethnographic Study "House for the Homeless: A Place to Hang Your Hat," Ivana Nikolic acts like a participant-observer and successfully illustrates the subculture of homelessness in America. Like Rick Zollo, Ivana observes and participates in this subculture to show the ways its members experience the world.
The social issue that I picked is homelessness. Homelessness is a real issue, even if we don’t always see it. Homelessness doesn’t just mean you don’t have a roof over your head, it means you don’t have food, a good education, a healthy lifestyle, or a warm place to sleep every night. Some people don’t think very highly about homeless people, they think that it's their fault that they are where they are in life. Homelessness is going to end up becoming a bigger problem.

Homelessness is one the most ignored problems in the United States with citizen and politician. Homeless people are walked by and ignored. Nobody ever thinks that they will be homeless. Due to the economy, people live paycheck to paycheck making house payments very difficult. Most people will want to believe most homeless people are drug addicts or alcoholics, but most people will be surprise to know that it is no all true.
The current government is creating a situation where more families along with their children are experiencing homelessness. An individual may be considered homeless when they lack permanent housing and have to stay in shelters, abandoned buildings or vehicles, on the streets, or in other forms of unstable situations. Many homeless people start out with jobs and stable residences, but then social and economic factors intervene, causing a rapid change in their living situation causing them to leave, and live on the street. Even with the population of homeless keeps increasing, the government does not aid nor benefit the homeless because they only worsen the homeless problem by having laws that go against homelessness, not helping mentally ill homeless population, and having the lack of subsidized housing.
In her memoir, the Glass Castle, Jeanette Wall’s discusses and explores many different concepts that affected her family dynamic and her development. One of these matters is homelessness. Individuals are able to live in a stable environment, sleep in a warm bed, wear clean clothes, and enjoy proper meals; but not all of these basic needs are enjoyed by everyone and their families. This undesirable situation is portrayed in Jeannette Walls novel. Jeannette vividly depicts homelessness by exploring its causes, its impact on daily life, and its effect on her family.
The homeless problem costs society millions of dollars, predominantly through medical bills. Society assumes homelessness is normally distributed. However, that is not the case. Homelessness follows a power-law distribution, meaning the problem is not concentrated in the middle but rather at one extreme. This distribution pattern is also evident in police violence allegations.
On a daily basis homeless individuals must find new ways to survive to constantly changing
We found that people are visible in the community, there are a few homeless people Many people use the public transportation to get to places like school, work and daycare centers. We observed a large amount of people smoking and casually hanging out in front of the convenient stores.
If a large group of homeless people without homes were to immigrate near my home, and some people who live in my community want the government and police to send these people away. I would politely want the homeless to do the same thing, by politely making them leave my property and community. I also would pay the government a visit because if there are homeless people coming all the way up to my community that must mean the government or police isn't doing their job in protecting my community and supporting these homeless people in getting jobs. If homeless people were to immigrate to my community I would feel terrible about the fact; that my hard working money I made was spent on a big house in a community full of homeless people. I would feel like my hard work, great tasting foods and, tax paying dollars is unappreciated by my fellow government.
