We are all pretty familiar with Thomas Jefferson and Martin Luther King Jr., both being significant representatives, fighting for different ideas. Jefferson goes way back during the 1700s’, growing up in a rich white environment and privileged to the extent where he is classified as an American founding father. A very different background compared to the majority of the colonies’ population at that time and two distinct relation shared between them. Comparing Jefferson’s to Martin Luther King Jr. and his background, it was the stereotypical style being shared throughout all black personas; struggling with the everyday racial difficulties they endured like mistreatment and abdication of equality. Not only Jefferson and King achieved something very astounding, but they would be later noticed as leaders through the spread of their work; for Jefferson was the Declaration of Independence and for King was his famous speech “I Have A Dream”. Jefferson’s stand point wanted separation and Kings’ wanted equality; a very contradictory comparison, but for both to take in effect, change will have to take place, no doubt about it. Another similarity clearly shown is the style of repetition on their main claims and the evidence supporting it. Using this style just shows how serious they are onto afflicting their perspective to their followers and/or targeted audience. Equality and fair treatment was also shown in both oppositions and more specifically, in their claims they were trying to enforce into the targeted audience and followers. Although Jefferson might not have been referring to complete equality shared throughout all men, it does underlie the ideals of this topic while supporting the misleading definition of equality by how it does not have to be every man treated, but a specific group can be referred. There might have been a bit more comparisons, but the ones I listed so far discuss the main agenda going on around these two authors and their
