The similarities between the two great African American leader in 19th and 20th century. Booker T. Washington and W.E.B Dubois. Both were the hope of generation because they were able to speak up to the rights for African American. Both wanted good education for African American for them to be recognize in the community and build a standard by their professions. both were against lynching because both wanted the lynching to be over .However, both of them have different way for Black social and economic progress.
Theoharis powerfully associates certain occurrences with characteristics of Parks. When mentioning the way in which the outlook on Rosa Parks’s actions had changes, Theoharis mentions, “The righteousness of her actions…”(3). By describing Parks’s actions as righteous, Theoharis further defied the belief that Rosa Parks was quiet. Theoharis associated bravery and heroism with Rosa Parks, and this counteracted the implications of secondary sources. The author included interpretations of Parks’s actions to further support her argument.
Both Cesar Chavez and Nelson Mandela have a lot of similarities and differences. On the next two paragraphs it is going to be showing their differences and their similarities. One similarity is that Mrs. Hutchinson stands up for what she believes in, just like Harrison in the story, "Harrison Bergeron". Both the characters actually stand up for something they believe in front of everybody, which takes some major courage. Plus, all the people in the story, with the exception of Mrs. Hutchinson and Harrison Bergeron (maybe the ballerina in "Harrison Bergeron") participate in something. This includes them wearing the handicaps for "Harrison Bergeron" and actually stoning a person every year in the story "The Lottery". And lastly, somebody in the story does not believe in the rules.
One of the first substantial challenges that Parvana faced was that the Taliban arrested her father and took him away because he went to college in England. Because the Taliban didn’t let women go outside alone, Parvana's family had no way of buying and getting food, and they never got fresh air, so they were always grumpy. Since women also weren’t allowed to work, Parvana's family had no way of making money. Because of all of these challenges that Parvana's family faced, her mother was often depressed and sat facing the wall on her toshak for a long time. One day Parvana's family had an idea to send Parvana out into the market dressed up as a boy.
orical figures Harriet Tubman and rosa parks were both strong African American woman who knew what rights were and didn't let the world bring them down. They ignored the nay-sayers and plowed on through with their beliefs. they are both women who tried to free the black people and earn rights. Harriet Tubman helped blacks through slavery, rosa parks helped them through segregation Harriet Tubman was the leader of the Underground Railroad during the late 1800's while Rosa Parks refused to move from the bus seat and got into more legal matters in the early 1900s. Basically, the time period and what they did made them different, but they have more similarities than differences.
Rosa was sitting in a front seat that normally belonged to those of white skin. When a white woman entered the bus and asked Rosa to move Rosa told her “No”. Rosa was later arrested but she now serves as a hero to America for her bravery. It can be very difficult to be different in a world that is so similar, but sometimes it can be as easy as sitting down in a world that all stands
Did you know Martin Luther King Junior got his idea to write the “Letter From Birmingham Jail” from Gandhi? He did get the idea from Gandhi. Not only did they use letters to fight for justice in their country they also had many similar things in their letters. Gandhi and Martin Luther King Junior both show examples of appeals that effectively support their positions using ties to logical, ethical and emotional appeals. Both Gandhi and King Jr. used logical appeals to show their opponents what they were doing was bad and wrong.
Segregation, and eventually integration, was a major event that occurred in the 1960s. During the Civil Rights Movement, people were being treated differently because of skin color. African Americans were being treated with very little respect while trying to integrate. Ruby Bridges and Rosa Parks were two examples. The Civil Rights Movement was an event that has changed history.

These two situations are related because both of the women stood up for what they believed in. Another similarity between these two movements is that they both were fighting for some form of freedom.
Rosa parks follows another woman, Claudette Colvin. Claudette did do exactly the same thing as Rosa, but she was pregnant at the time so the NAACP though she didn’t have the ability to stand up on her own. Colvin, Parks, Lafayette, Emeagwali, Fuller, Malcolm X, and Bridges are just a couple of the great african-american heroes. Rosa Parks is a influence on all people. She shows everyone that if they stand up in what the believe in they can do all things, even if there are consequences.

When Rosa Parks got an arrest, it had started a resolution. When Rosa didn't get up from her seat for a white man, the driver called the police and arrested her. So at her court date, the African Americans had started a boycott. The Africans have to seat in the back of the bus in the colored section. Because Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man; she started a revolution and the fight for equal rights for black people.
In the book The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis, Parvana is the protagonist. She goes through many hardships to keep her family alive. Parvana has to persevere through all of the hardships that are thrown at her. First of all, Parvana also persevered to become a boy.
