How Can New Forest National Park Be Managed

New Forest National Park is one of the most recently designated national parks in the United Kingdom. It is famous for its outstanding scenery and biodiversity. It is also the place where a number of Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) are located, reflecting the value of the New Forest National Park. I have the fortune to be a regular visitor of New Forest National Park during March 2017 to July 2017, when I lived in a nearby city, Southampton. I was stunned by the natural beauty of the national park and the extent that it is preserved. I am also aware that locals residing in national parks of the United Kingdom played a significant role when it comes to management of national parks, can a balance between conservation and local needs be stroke? Next, it will examine the management objectives and the strategies adopted to achieve these objectives, which will be the main part of this essay. Finally, personal reflections and recommendations will be offered to further enhance the state of New Forest National Park, and retain its role in terms of serving human needs and ecosystem services. Besides from a series of academic literature and data, field observations and photos taken during visits to New Forest National Park will be used to supplement this essay. New Forest National Park – An Overview New Forest National Park is located in Hampshire, Southern England, covering 570 square kilometres.
