The pornography industry has become extremely prevalent in today’s cultural. Pornography grabs a hold of its victims and creates an addiction that is not easy to break from. It also creates an environment for human trafficking. Many studies have shown that pornography creates a bad environment “when viewing a specific behavior in a specific context affects judgments regarding that particular behavior in that particular context” (Wright & Bae, 2015, p. 446). This means that pornography is causing the people that watch it so feel that they are not good enough and must perform a certain way. There is a problem with the pornography industry. • TJ could change his behavior because of the harm done through the pornography industry and human trafficking. If TJ decides to keep his lifestyle the way it is, he would be faced with moral and ethical guilt. TJ knows that the act of watching pornography gives human traffickers more fuel to continue finding girls and exploiting them. However, TJ is addicted to the act of watching Internet pornography and masturbating. He has to decide which option he wants to choose. The core beliefs of the Christian Worldview are prevalent in this situation, providing guidance on which choice is best. Core Beliefs Christianity holds many beliefs on God and humanity. Christianity believes that God is “all-powerful (or "omnipotent"), all-knowing (or "omniscient"), all-present (or "omnipresent"), and all-good (or "omnibenevolent")” (ReligionFacts, 2015). God rules over all things on Earth and allows things to happen so that they can ultimately glorify Him. This scenario shows the prevalence of sin and the devil on Earth. Humanity is created in the image of God and in this scenario, His creation is not being used for good. However, the worldly view towards pornography suggests that women have the right to their body and the right to do what they please with that body. Nina Hartley is a self-described Atheist and radical feminist. She stands strongly on the side for pornography production and consumption. Hartley also proclaims the same view that many radical feminists hold. When asked about her thoughts on pornography, Hartley brings up the rights of women and the many years that women had to fight for those rights. She states that “women also fought hard for the right to be sexual on [their] own terms” (Shaffer, 2010, p. 27).
