Candy Candy is one of the best inventions in human civilization and is one of the most favored treats of all time. Two of the most well known candies are Jolly Rancher and Tootsie Roll. There are many arguments about which one is better in different aspects. I personally love Jolly Ranchers. In my opinion, I believe Jolly Ranchers are better than Tootsie Rolls.
Candy Land was once a peaceful nation until King Airheads XVI rose to power. Under his control, the social structure of Candy Land was poor, unstable, and unfair; the government was corrupt as well. Ancien Régime was the political and social system of the Kingdom of Candy Land during the Late Middle Ages. The unfair social structure was made up of three estates: the first estate, the second estate, and the third estate, exactly like the French social structure during the French Revolution. The first estate held 1% of the total population of Candy Land which included the Kit-Kat’s (clergies).
Everyones favorite candy has always been chocolate it has been around for over thousands of years and it was changed when Milton S. Hershey started his company we all know and love ‘The Hershey Company’. ‘The Hershey’s Company’ has impacted the world, because they made the first affordable chocolate bar. First off chocolate has been around for thousands of years, but it was not truly effected until 1894 and that was when Milton S. Hershey started ‘The Hershey Company’. “The cacao tree was cultivated more than 3,000 years ago by the Maya, Toltec, and Aztec peoples, who prepared a beverage from its fruit, the cocoa bean (sometimes using it as a ceremonial drink) and also used the bean as a currency. The Maya considered chocolate to be the food of the gods, held the cacao tree to be sacred, and even buried dignitaries with bowls of the substance (along with other items deemed useful in the afterlife).”
In the articles, "How Candy Conquered America" and "This Cupcake Is Trying To Hurt You" by Lauren Tarshis and Kristin Lewis, it explains how candy became so popular in America, but also how to conduct away from all the sugar. First of all, you can stay away from sugar by drinking more water than soda. This indicates that drinking more water might seem small, but when you replace water when you drink soda most of the time, you won't consume that much more sugar.
Sugar was a food that no person was ever known to have the power of relinquishing the desire for it (Document 3B). It was also a great sweetener for drinks like coffee and tea, but best of all it was used to make chocolate (Document 4). Over time people started wanting and consuming more and more sugar because it became such an obsession (Document 5). This shows us that people wanted sugar and over time people wanted more and more if it because they found other ways to use it. People all over the world wanted sugar and once they had a taste there was no going back.
Their are a lot of sweets you can choose from such as gummy bears, chocolate foundtain, cotton candy,Ice Cream, and more. I also love their sprinkles and toppings. Now on to the next paragraph.
Everyone craved sugar because it was a sweet-tasting ingredient. Sugar was used
The sweet granular substance proved a sensation among its elite customers, and demand skyrocketed. Cultivation and processing of sugar quickly spread throughout the Antilles and the Brazilian littoral as well as to Mexico, Paraguay, and South America’s Pacific
In the 1920’s, America reached its highest standard of living. American citizens were making more money, working less, spending more time on leisure activities, and buying expensive items, such as cars. A middle class America was developing, suburbs were constructed, and the new workweek was shortened to five days a week. Despite this boom of prosperity, the changes in America from 1920 to 1945 were primarily detrimental. The United States began the 20th century on excess, but this excess eventually overflowed and left America high and dry.
Imagine having to live during the time of the 1930s and having to feel isolated based on things you can't change about yourself. In this story, isolation is seen many times in characters during the 1930s because of their mental disabilities, physical disabilities, or even their gender which they can't control. People with disabilities were treated poorly, as women were treated like they had to be glued to the house. In Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the isolation of Lennie, Curley's wife and Candy illustrates that living in the 1930s was incredibly isolating for some groups of people. In the story, one of the main characters Lennie has a mental disability, this mental disability gave him the mindset of a child.
Sugar- the nation’s epitome of an unhealthy American diet. The evil that gives pleasure to the mouth, but does no justice to health. Needless to say, it is our nation’s drug, poison and everyone is addicted without having a grasp on the damage it has done in the past, is currently doing, and futuristically doing for our children and our children’s children. Sugar has taken a toll on our nation and has single-handedly become the substandard, ruinous enemy to our individual health. Our health is being jeopardized more than ever before.
Chocolate Forever? Not Really..... Originally, the idea of candy production entered Milton Hershey’s mind in the early 1870’s.
Young Goodman Brown" is a short story published by American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is often characterized as an allegory about the recognition of evil and depravity as the nature of humanity. The beginning of the story by Nathaniel Hawthorne introduces us to Young Goodman Brown as he says goodbye to his wife of three months. He tells her that he must go on this journey and that he will be back by the morning.
The Origin Of The Candy Cane The original candy cane has been just a white piece of sugar, called candy sugar sticks. The candy cane did not become popular until around the nineteenth century. “The existence of candy sugar sticks without colored strips has been documented at least as far back as 1844… modern candy cane did not appear until the beginning of the 20th century”(Snopes). During the nineteenth century the white candy cane became popular to eat and on cards during Christmas time.
The day of July 21, 2014 I learned a very important life lesson that will stick with me until the day I die; my eyes were opened to a new way of living. I remember the day clearly, as if a movie screen was perched in front of me and that treacherous day was playing in a loop. The morning air seeping through the cracked window before my bed was chilling. The vision of waking up to my mother sobbing will forever be engraved into my mind. It was very early in the morning, and I found myself feeling very confused why my mother was mourning, as I had only seen her cry once in my 14 years of age.
