When we are texting or browsing the internet on our cell phones, do we think about how far the technology of that mobile device has come? Cell phones are very useful for everyday tasks nowadays. One day though it was a lot more simple. In this paper we are going to talk about how cell phones have evolved from the time they were first released up until now, from one of the very first cell phones to the new iPhone. The very first cell phone was invented over four decades ago. That device was known as the DynaTAC, and was invented by Martin Cooper. It was used by the infamous ‘90s heartthrob Zach Morris on TV’s “Saved by the Bell.” It wasn’t until 1992, that the first text message was ever sent. “LOL” made its way into the technology world, and is still very used today, along with a few other acronyms indicating laughter. Steve Jobs was quoted saying that iPhone would “reinvent the phone.” This phone was out of this world, not only could you text, but you could browse the web, play a game, and take pictures/video; all at the same time if you really wanted! Just as technology evolves, so did the iPhone. Over the last seven years, iPhone has outdone themselves with 6 different versions of the iPhone. For example, the voice assistant Siri was introduced originally as an app, but if you had an iPhone 3S, or 5S, she was built in and ready for use!
